Every week, a young widow visited her husband’s tomb to water the flowers. As she walked away, she never turned back. One day, a young man who had been observing her approached. “I see that you have shown great respect to your late husband,” he said. “I think it’s really lovely that you don’t turn around when you go.”
In reality, some women marry much older men for their inheritance; this woman was one of them. Despite this, she still made it a point to visit his grave weekly.
The young man couldn’t resist commenting on her consistent actions. “You’ve shown your late husband a great deal of respect. I think it’s really lovely that you don’t turn around when you go,” he repeated.
The widow’s response left him speechless. “Well, sir, my husband used to tell me that I had a behind capable of raising the dead from their graves. I wish to avoid taking any chances,” she said.
