It is always good to consider your budget and there are things you may be able to do that can save you a lot of time and money if you just make the changes. One Tesla owner is now helping us to see a change that we could make.

According to the Tesla driver, there is a considerable amount of money to be saved if you switch to an electric car. That is especially true as the price of fuel continues to go up.

If you have ever considered the possibility of switching to a car that runs on electricity rather than gas, one driver has something to say about it. He made the switch and he decided to keep track of how much he was spending.

Bilal Sattar is the Tesla driver who went on Twitter recently to share how much he was spending to fuel his vehicle. The amount of money that he was able to save in just the last six months is quite impressive.

He wrote: “Six months and roughly 10k miles I’ve spent only $573 to charge. An equivalent gas car at $4/gallon would have cost roughly $2400.”

In other words, he saved $1800 by using his electric car. He even shared a screenshot from the Tesla app that showed just how much he was saving.

It would seem as if there was no reason not to choose an electric car but there are some things to consider. Just making the switch would be all too convenient, but there is another reason why he was able to save money.

First of all, there are locations that offer free charging for these vehicles, and he takes full advantage of them wherever possible. You have to find them in the right location, but it seems as if he is in the right location.

Again, he also shared something about an electric bill that gave another indication. He must’ve been using solar panels because he was actually putting wattage back into the grid rather than pulling it all out.

In the end, he did save money but it wasn’t as impressive as what it seemed on Twitter. I guess the old axiom still holds true; Let the Buyer Beware.
