It was a bitterly cold winter night when Jack, a man living on the streets, heard the faintest cry coming from a nearby alley. Curled up beside a dumpster was a tiny kitten, barely moving, shivering uncontrollably. Without a second thought, Jack knelt down, gently scooped her up, and tucked her into his threadbare jacket. He held her close to his chest, shielding her from the wind.
“Just keeping her warm,” he whispered, more to himself than anyone else.
