Sarah Jessica Parker once allowed her gray hair to grow out but received scathing criticism from fans.

When she dyed her hair, the reception was much better, but Parker strongly felt that people should be allowed to do what makes them comfortable.

In July 2021, Sarah Jessica Parker, then 56, took some time off from shooting the “Sex and The City” reboot, “And Just Like That..” by going to New York City’s Anton’s restaurant with Andy Cohen. The actress wore a sleeveless blue top and chain necklace at the time.

During this time, when the star was still sporting gray hair, she pulled it back into a braid. Although she was rocking her natural hair, instead of being supportive, many people came out to criticize and judge her.

The sighting led one Daily Mail reader to comment that it wasn’t a “good look on her” before noting how only a few people could pull off gray hair without looking “old.” Another person who saw Parker’s gray-haired look on Instagram wrote:

Someone complained that Parker hadn’t “aged well” and looked 70. A Daily Mail reader was shocked to hear that the actress was only 56 as they believed she looked 86 and questioned if the star was sick.

A fan of the “Honeymoon In Vegas” actress mentioned how she didn’t look like someone “in her seventies” despite her being way younger than that. The reader tried to continue complimenting her, saying she looks like a woman who’s aged gracefully without having to carve up her face.

Someone else said Broderick’s wife was older than 56, despite having turned 56 that year, and believed she’d always looked older than her age, and now it was more noticeable. The commenter felt she looked like she was in her seventies before betting, “That is about her real age.”

Parker stuck it out with her natural hair for a while despite the cruel judgments but seemed to cave in at one point. In a recent sighting, the actress was seen with dyed hair and looking like her old self.

What Did Sarah Look Like on Her Outing with Her Husband, and What Were Fans’ Reactions?
On September 13, 2023, Parker, 58, appeared at London’s Kensington Palace for the ATG Summer Party. The “Sex and The City” actress looked incredible in a green flowing gown that featured a thigh-high slit and cape-style chiffon sleeves that partially covered her arms.

The dress also had a plunging neckline; her hair was left to fall softly around her face, while metallic heels gave her extra height. The star was accompanied to the event by her longtime husband and fellow actor, Matthew Broderick, 61.

The tabloids also mentioned her gray hair despite sitting next to Cohen, whose whole head was gray…

Despite all eyes being on her for her stunning looks, some social media users zoomed in on something else about her appearance. Replying to a Daily Mail article showing Parker’s ATG look, one person wrote:

“She looks much better when she gets rid of grandma’s grey hair.”

Another reader thought the actress looked “freshened up a little,” like the previous one; they figured she “Maybe got rid of the grey hair along the hairline?” The social media user also noted how the dress’s color looked “fab on her.”

Someone else said Parker’s hair is “much improved,” while another person lamented about her looking “so very old.” In June 2023, during her “The Howard Stern Show” interview, Parker addressed Hollywood’s current cosmetic surgery trend and the public’s focus on aging.

The actress said she didn’t feel “unpresentable” and didn’t like looking at herself. Broderick’s wife shared how she understood why people chose to get cosmetic surgery because women were pressured about their looks. She recalled how in 2021, when “And Just Like That…” aired its new season, endless articles came out focused on aging gracefully.

The tabloids also mentioned her gray hair despite her sitting next to Cohen, whose whole head was gray, but his wasn’t addressed. So Parker understood why women did what they did because of the judgments, and she had no opinion either way as she felt they had to do what they wanted.
