According to reports, Tina Turner’s relationship with her kids was strained, especially after she moved to Switzerland and gave them little face time.

Ike Turner Jr., 64, the son of Tina Turner, was detained on suspicion of possessing crack cocaine and tampering with evidence. On May 6, police in Alvin, Texas, detained him.
He was detained 18 days before his mother, who was 83 years old, passed away in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Turner Jr. was stopped at 12:09 a.m. for what is known as an equipment failure, which is used when a car’s headlight or taillight is not functioning, according to police files.
Turner Jr. was operating a 2013 Ford Fusion in white.
Turner Jr. was found by police to be in possession of less than a gram of methamphetamine and 1.7 grams of crack cocaine. Turner allegedly made an attempt to consume the drugs after being apprehended to hide them from being discovered.
According to officials from the Alvin Police Department trying to arrest Turner Jr. he allegedly “tried to eat the drugs before the officers could seize them from him.”
Jessica Salinas-Esquivel was a passenger in the car as well. According to reports, she is also facing charges for drug possession.
Turner Jr. is reportedly being held at Brazoria County Jail for the past month and has not posted his bail, which has been set to the tune of $70,000.
Ike Turner Sr., the namesake and father of Turner Jr., notably struggled with substance abuse throughout his life. From 1962 through 1978, Tina Turner was wed to Ike Turner Sr. Ike Turner Sr. had been detained on numerous occasions for drug-related charges. Additionally, he had served time in prison for other possession-related offenses. At the age of 76, he overdosed on cocaine and passed on in December 2007.
After suffering a number of health difficulties for years, Tina Turner passed away on May 24. In April 2017, she even had a kidney transplant. Erwin Bach, her husband, had given her the kidney.
