Lara’s workday shatters when her six-year-old son, Ben, whispers on the phone that their babysitter, Ruby, has collapsed and won’t wake up. Racing home, Lara finds Ben hiding in a closet, clutching his stuffed dinosaur, and Ruby unconscious on the living room floor.

As she cares for both, painful memories resurface—memories of the day she and Ben found his father dead from a sudden heart attack. It feels like history repeating. But this time, Ruby survives, and Lara sees how brave Ben has become: calmly calling her, tending to Ruby, and waiting alone.

That night, as Ben falls asleep with his hand in hers, Lara reflects on the strength her little boy carries. Sometimes, children are forced to grow up too soon—and sometimes, it’s the parent who needs saving most.
